💡 AI tools have become a very popular topic recently - with good reason, if you can look past the swathe of never-ending cheat sheets and prompt guides. If the right tool is used for the right purpose, it can save individuals and teams hours upon hours, quickly. The main benefit is they’re usually sign up and go tools with no implementation or configuration time or cost. Some do come with a learning curve, but it can be a fun rabbit hole if it’s your thing. Ok, we’re nerds, whatever.

ChatGPT💫

🤔 What is it? A large language model-based chatbot, trained to follow an instruction in a prompt and provide a detailed response.

👍 Fab because the free version can be used by anyone (web based and now on the mobile app, too). You don’t need to be a developer to use it, you can use it to suggest recipes based off a specific set of ingredients you have to hand, for example.

💫 SaaSy favourite - we’re in love with it and use it all the time for things like sense checking complex or technical document structures, ideation for marketing content, super-charged Google equivalent for specific instructions (e.g. how do I create this particular formula in Excel), jump starting research, summarising long text - the list goes on!

🔽 It’s not so great as it can be a learning curve (although what we’ve found is that you can just ask it things in plain English - the more detail the better, usually - rather than worrying about specific prompts).

Otter.ai

🤔 What is it? A tool that uses AI to write automatic meeting notes with real-time transcription, recorded audio, automated slide capture, and automated meeting summaries.

👍 Fab because we love the free plan, and use it to transcribe important meetings in real time or our interview series. Makes the notes much easier afterwards.

🔽 It’s not so great as the free plan limits you to 30 minutes a time (boo).
